The tool can be customized in 2 ways:
Computer -> Building
Hold ALT + right click with the tool
After building/editing/removing the sidewalks -> Open map editor and click on the road update button on the right side. When this update is finished then the system knows where the sidewalks are.
Road and sidewalks updating can take up to few minutes for large worlds.
To switch ON/OFF pedestrians spawning -> Computer -> Traffic
Pedestrians do not spawn on the sidewalks that the player is looking at!
Can walk on sidewalks blocks and slabs
Can walk on station (tile) floor blocks and slabs, but they are not spawning on those blocks
Can walk up/down any stairs, which are connected with sidewalks or station floor blocks/slabs
Can ride on escalators if they are connected with
Can walk freely inside Park zones which are open squares
Map editor -> create park zone -> open it in side panel -> make it an open square
At least one of the park zone edges has to overlap with any sidewalk
Can use the elevators which are accessible by sidewalks or station floor blocks
Can use scooters that are nearby (on sidewalks)
Will wait for transport in platform zones which should be connected by station floor blocks or sidewalks
If the platform zone is closed, then pedestrians don't wait
Pedestrian crossings will only work without traffic lights at the moment!
If pedestrians are switched ON and road update is performed but pedestrians are not spawning
Reason: Data systems changed when migrating from version 0.1.x to 0.2.x. This means sidewalks are not saved into the PTM2 internal data storage.
To fix this execute command: /give @s ptm2:read_in_antenna
Right click with it on the sidewalks -> it will enter all the sidewalk blocks in 16 block radius into the data storage
Map editor -> Update roads
Now pedestrians should start spawning
